Introduction

In 2004 I set foot on Namibian soil and very soon fell in love with it. Working for some time in a Namibian diamond cutting factory, I decided to set up my own business and created in 2008 the "Gayane Trading Enterprises CC". Looking at this country, I had a dream, and since my whole life was connected with diamonds, I decided to create a project that would include everything from mining to selling jewelry to buyers, and most importantly, that this country will return at least part of what was taken from it. By becoming a citizen of Namibia, I transformed my dream into a goal and how it is being realized, you can see below:
My concept is Diamonds - from the ground to the ring! The project, called Namibian Dew, includes everything from rough diamonds to sparkling jewelry and complete chains of - value-addition within vertical integration and beneficiation!

Achievements

in diamonds since 1994

My name is Karen Shahnazaryan, I love what I do and I would like to invite you to join me on my business journey in Namibia.

Cutting production is undoubtedly the core of this project due to the availability of the "Gayane Trading Enterprises CC" diamond cutter's license, which gives me an access to be a sight-holder with  NDTC (Namibia Diamond Trading Company) and NAMDIA (Namib Desert Diamonds) after the production will be set up and running.

Cutting the stones on site creates additional added value, and the rough diamonds made into polished diamonds produced in Namibia have completely different export taxes than rough diamonds.

* I can provide additional information upon request to interested partners.

The Gayane Trading Enterprises CC dealer's licence entitles me to import rough diamonds from legal sources worldwide for the factory (see above) needs, and local or international trading.
Creating jewelry production in the country has the following advantages:
• Increases the amount of surplus value left in Namibia.
• Reduces diamonds export duties.
• Selling products locally gives managers access to the operational cache, thus reducing its dependence on the decision-making center, which is a motivating factor.
• And most importantly - jewelry production, a necessary component of a Diamonds - from the ground to the ring! marketing strategy, and increases brand awareness.
In addition to the standard marketing options, which I’m sure you know about, I propose using unique, in my opinion, methods.
• Using the invoice number of the product, the buyer can track online the entire path of the stone, including information - where it was mined or purchased, where and by whom it was marked and cut, the characteristics of the metal and the name of the jeweler, if the jewelry was purchased, and other information.

• My main emphasis in the marketing strategy is based: firstly, on the buyer’s confidence that part of the money he paid for the product will be used to support the people of Namibia through the Foundation Namibian Dew and secondly, using the unique number of the personalized charity certificate received upon purchase any of our products, track online (software is being developed) where this particular contribution was spent.
• If desired, the above options can be combined with a unique number with online access.

• The trademark "Namibian Dew" was registered by BIPA in classes 14 & 36.

• My retail concept is limited to one point, directly during jewelry production, with the opportunity to visit the factory (see above) and select diamonds that are still “hot”, and quickly install them into already cast products, or, if the buyer has time, make the product to order.
• At the buyer's request, we can send the stone he has chosen to GIA for certification if he is not satisfied with the choice from those already certified.
• Mass sales will take place through large retail chains or exclusive boutiques, the basis of cooperation with which will be our unique marketing (see above) concept and a clear supply of retailers with advertising - online and, if necessary, offline products.

• The registered trademark “Okawe (Diamond in Oshiwambo language), a Letter Matters” and the registered trade name “Kalahari Jewelers” could be used on local markets if needed.

Important additions to the project

MINING OPPORTUNITIES

• An application for exploration and further mining of rough diamonds on the Orange River (a beautiful view of which is shown on our home page) has been submitted and awaiting approval. Based on competent profile information, the licensed area is unique in terms of raw material content in the valley of ancient river floods, and, after securing the mining rights at the applied area, we will have all the tools in our hands to accomplish the cycle of our business concept “Diamonds – From the Ground to the Ring”.
• Mining can be carried out in cooperation with specialized partners, but, in any case, the marketing (see above) benefit of having your own mining in the chain is invaluable.

Land for the project

• An application for the acquisition of a large piece of industrial land in "Gayane Trading Enterprises CC" name is pending with the Okahandja Municipality and is awaiting approval.
The choice for this cozy Namibian city fell for the following reasons:
• The city is the geographical center of Namibia and all transport and tourist flows certainly pass through Okahandja, which has high offline marketing significance; tourists who purchase Namibian Dew ®™ brand products will increase the brand’s recognition through personal connections in their homeland, which is at least the entire planet, based on the tourism boom in Namibia, and as mentioned above, will create an additional source of operational cash obtained with high margins.
• The cost of both real estate and labor is lower than in the capital.
Transport accessibility - 30 minutes along the highway to Windhoek and 3 hours along a high-quality road to the ocean port by car, there are also frequent shuttles and buses in both directions.
• When creating an industrial cluster here, including a cutting/polishing enterprise, jewelry production, a jewelry store and a small tourism infrastructure, the main production problem is solved, the availability of qualified personnel. After De Beers closed the Namibian largest cutting factory in Okahandja (if you want to know the reasons, please contact me), there are many trained personnel left in the city, who, moreover, do not need to be provided with employer's housing.
• And in conclusion, relations with the city administration, which are already quite warm, will be strengthened thanks to Foundation Namibian Dew, the internal regulations of which indicate that part of the fund’s income will be directed to solving the Okahandja's social problems, in terms of the statutory provisions of the fund.

foundation namibian dew

• The "Foundation Namibian Dew" registration process can be started at any time, the name is reserved in BIPA, the requirements for establishing a foundation are known.

• As I said above, through our foundation Namibia will return at least part of what was taken from it, because in addition to charitable contributions to the foundation, all commercial activities under the roof of the Namibian Dew brand must share part of their profits. with the needs of the fund.

• The main objectives of the fund are to help protect - children, health and the environment.

• The marketing (see above) benefits of the fund’s participation in the Namibia Dew project will bring significant profits to project participants under the brand of the same name, which will naturally increase revenues to the fund and, of course, distribution for the needs of the Namibian people.
